Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: The results are predictably predictable if rarely entertainingly risible, with swaths of exposition and dialogue that sounds like ads ("one people, one world"). – Manohla Dargis, New York Times, Jun 24, 2016

Rotten: Disposable and shockingly inept. – Chris Nashawaty, Entertainment Weekly, Jun 24, 2016

Rotten: The only thing resurgent in this humorless alien mess is Hollywood's passion to charge us more and deliver less. – Peter Travers, Rolling Stone, Jun 24, 2016

Rotten: You can forgive Independence Day: Resurgence for being ridiculous -- its predecessor was too. But you can't forgive it for being boring. – Stephanie Zacharek, TIME Magazine, Jun 24, 2016

Really?

Really, with all that money and special effects, they could not build a story that made even a little bit of sense?
This is so disappointing a movie.

Pretty Much The Worst

This was pretty bad. What a waste. It didn't have any big moments. The acting was borderline ok. It wasn't at all epic, like the first. And had a rushed feel. It was all in all pretty terrible. Watch if you must but know this ain't ID4 OG.

Bad

There are dumb but entertaining movies, unfortunately this movie is simply dumb and has zero entertainment value.
