About the Movie
When Chris (Emile Hirsch) has a stash of drugs stolen from him by his mother, he has to come up with six-thousand dollars, or he's dead. Enter "Killer" Joe Cooper (Matthew McConaughey), a hired hit man who will help Chris cash in on his mother’s life insurance policy but requires his own fee upfront, no exceptions. When Joe spots Dottie (Juno Temple), Chris' younger sister, he offers to keep the girl as collateral until the fee is paid but as Joe sets out to fulfill his end of the bargain, a devilish series of twists and lies derail the plan.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Out of the muck and mire of human depravity that is "Killer Joe," something magnificent comes: a killer performance by Matthew McConaughey.
Rotten: That everything should go wrong is no surprise, but the wrong turns are taken so viciously -- Gershon, in particular, is appallingly treated, in closeup -- that they lead the film, adapted from the play by Tracy Letts, to the brink of abusive farce.
Fresh: It's as mean as a snake.
Fresh: A gleeful and unapologetic descent into delicious decadence, Killer Joe is proud of what it is and never tries to be something it isn't.
Don't waste your time or money!
Worst movie ever! Not a thriller in the slightest. Not one for writing reviews but no one should waste time watching such a pointless movie. Very awkward and unnecessary scenes and no story line! Wish you could put negative stars.
The Reservoir Dogs of this decade. McConaughey in a career-defining performance. Highly Recommended but not for the faint of heart.
I gave it an extra star because of the acting. I hated the movie, and I hated the story. There is no reason this was made. its pure garbage. Highly not recommended, and you will be sorry that you tested my critique if you decide to watch it.
