Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Bolstered by Thomas Newman's score, spot-on set design and the brilliant source material, "Revolutionary Road" is a darkly effective portrait of an Eisenhower-era couple who fall tragically short of reaching Camelot. – Richard Roeper, Richard, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: There is not a shred of hope, light or even life in Mendes' fourth film. – Simon Miraudo, Quickflix, Nov 2, 2014

Devastating and Pointless

What starts out as an intriguing exploration of late 50s idyllic coupledom quickly descends into meaningless bickering melodrama. The film lacked context and characters' motives were underplayed. DeCaprio's character comes across too sympathetic and Winslet's too un-understandably demanding. The use of ancillary characters was crude and banal. I'm told that the book doesn't have these issues. Not worth watching unless one wants to wallow in desperation and hopelessness that is these people's lives.

So many complecated twists and turns, it'll keep you hooked! you don't know who to root for. Trust me, you wont regret buying this!

Enjoyable Drama

I found Revolutionary Road to be entertaining, but if you're not a fan of slow-paced oscar movies, than you probably will be bored to tears. But I loved it! GO KATE WINSLET!!!
