About the Movie

Ben Cronin (Jesse Bradford) has everything going for him: he is the school’s star swimmer, he has just earned a swimming scholarship to Stanford, and he has a beautiful girlfriend, Amy (Roswell’s Shiri Appleby). One slip-up with Madison, the new girl in town, sends his life into a downward spiral. In the same vein as Fatal Attraction, Swimfan is a cautionary tale about deadly obsession.

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Proof that a thriller can be sleekly shot, expertly cast, paced with crisp professionalism... and still be a letdown if its twists and turns hold no more surprise than yesterday's weather report. – Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly, Sep 7, 2011

Rotten: It would be great to see this turd squashed under a truck, preferably a semi. – Peter Travers, Rolling Stone, Aug 4, 2007

Rotten: A chiller resolutely without chills. – Scott Foundas, Variety, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: The first Fatal Attraction was vile enough. Do we really need the Tiger Beat version? – Charles Taylor, Salon.com, Jul 7, 2010

Yes people,I liked it

Swimfan is a teenage version of the 1987 classic thriller Fatal Attraction, which I haven't seen yet so I can't do a comparession of both films. After recovering from a drug problem,Ben Cronin(Jesse Bradford)as got his life back on track. He's the star of his high school swimming team,on the verge of getting a swimming scholarship from Stanford University, has a beautiful and loyal girlfriend Amy(Shiri Appleby) and good friends. Then Madison Bell(Erika Christensen)enters the picture and has her eyes sight on Ben.Madison seduces Ben into having a one night stand with her and even gets him to tell her that he loves her in the middle of it.After that, she starts emailing and paging him like crazy and after Ben tells Madison off,Ben's life starts going down the tubes.Swimfan is a teenybopper movie, but it's also a thiller and a good one too,not a great one but good.I really had fun watching this film and Erika Christensen really creeped me out,she made a great psychopath.I've always like Jesse Bradford since 1995 when Hackers came out and of course I'm a big fan of the show Roswell. You can tell that these three young actors have really good talent and this film is a great display of that talent.I can't wait to see what comes next for these young talents.
