Fresh: There is literally nothing wrong with it. I don't have a single nit to pick, minor flaw to point out or little bit that annoyed me. It is pure magic from the first frame to the last.
Fresh: It isn't arty or intellectual, though it is artful and ingenious, and it's the rare crowd-pleaser that never feels obvious or pandering.
Fresh: The whole thing is so damn clever and charming, it might just sneak off with Best Picture.
Fresh: You can't fault it as smart entertainment, which eschews parody to make a sincere tribute that also serves as cogent current commentary.
I saw this film because of what all the critics and people around me were saying, with my own careful expectation that it would be "boring", or uneventful - after all, I'm eighteen and have nothing to gain from a "nostalgia trip". Wow, how wrong I was! I was intrigued from beginning to end. The Artist really embodies the character and style of the silent movie era, right down to the acting - Dujardin is excellent, along with the rest of the cast, and the dog is entertaining as well.
I saw this movie at the theater I'm 13 and I thought it was going to be boring and uneventful. I was completely wrong it was a very suspenseful and romantic film my eyes were glued to the screen the whole time. I never would of thought a silent film would be so good it deserves the academy awards it won and the dog is so cute :) highly recommend this movie
A must see! This movie is so wonderful I almost stayed in the theater for the day! Brillant!
