Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: As the subject of a documentary, this grim enterprise distinctly lacks the warm and fuzzy appeal of The March of the Penguins. So director Louie Psihoyos ingeniously reinvents his film as a spy caper.
Fresh: The Cove does what every great documentary with a cause should: It educates, entertains, and inspires audiences to take action.
Fresh: The Cove is guerrilla journalism at its best. Structured and paced by director Louie Psihoyos as a thriller/caper movie, it brings audience-grabbing cinematic conventions to work in telling its story of dolphin genocide
Fresh: There are five minutes in this documentary that ought to be mandatory viewing. The entire 90 minutes is utterly compelling, but the five alone are worth the price of admission.
Amazing and Heartbreaking
This documentary is very heartbreaking and eye opening but a must see for everybody. This is what finally made me care about the world's oceans and the brutal murder of tens of thousands of dolphins in Japan. Thank you Ric and team for giving us the opportunity to see what really goes on all over the world.
This movie made me cry for almost 4 days afterwards. I felt like the world had so much evil in it, and it made me so sad. All I want to do now is, SOMETHING. And the move to action does a good documentary make. Most movie film I have ever seen, period.
very well done
It's an amazing doc, very eye opening. A total must see as a human.
