Plot Summary

Warner Bros. Pictures' and Legendary Pictures' "The Dark Knight Rises" is the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act. But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: The director and cowriter/brother Jonathan Nolan pay heed to Wayne's wounded emotional arc. And the film is a feat of painstakingly crafted closure. – Lisa Kennedy, Denver Post, Jul 19, 2012

Epic & Phenomenal !

A great fitting conclusion to by far one of the best Trilogies of all time !
Thank you Mr. Christopher Nolan for introducing the Bruce Wayne / Batman character in the best possible way to the world, your great work will always be remembered and appreciated.
Batman Begins, The Dark Knight & The Dark Knight Rises are all great movies and absolutely EPIC in different ways.; this being said, topping this Trilogy for the next Batman reboot would be an EXTREMELY difficult task and very unlikely in my opinion ...

Absolutley Amazing!

Nolan has done what some only dream of doing, he created a thrilling, action packed and perfect concluding chapter to a legendary trilogy. The Dark Knight Rises, is by far one of the greatest movies of the year, its not just a great superhero movie, but a great movie in general. Anne Hathaway owns every scene she's in as one of the greatest Catwoman's to ever appear on screen, and is a definate contender for a best actress nomination. It has grandeur, a serious amount of pathos and some of the most exciting scenes of action and the most satisfying concluding chapter to a series I have seen since Deathly Hallows Part 2... I would recommend this film to anyone and everyone who loves spectatular cinema!

An epic and suiting conclusion to the trilogy.
You won't be disappointed!
