About the Movie

In the action-comedy The Interview, Dave Skylark (James Franco) and his producer Aaron Rapoport (Seth Rogen) run the popular celebrity tabloid TV show 'Skylark Tonight.' When they discover that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is a fan of the show, they land an interview with him in an attempt to legitimize themselves as journalists. As Dave and Aaron prepare to travel to Pyongyang, their plans change when the CIA recruits them, perhaps the most unlikely candidates, to 'take out' Kim Jong-un.

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: The suffocating level of redundancy on display kneecaps any legitimate chance the film had at embracing social satire. – Scott Marks, San Diego Reader, Aug 20, 2015

Fresh: Driven by the blustery, swear-happy, cadence-free performances that characterise most Seth Rogen comedies, this reasonably funny lark at least has the distinction of mixing in some light political satire with the usual knockabout fare we've come to expect – Jim Schembri, 3AW, Mar 7, 2015

Rotten: The final third of the film, which is directed by Rogen and Evan Goldberg, degenerates into a humourless and violent Rambo pastiche. – Stephen Romei, The Australian, Feb 20, 2015

Fresh: While Rogen and Goldberg's stance is clearly anti-North Korean government, the duo don't exactly wave the American flag high either, with the film throwing some hits the way of its own country. – Cara Nash, FILMINK (Australia), Feb 12, 2015

Watched it 3 times already

Definitely a funny movie , it's worth your time. Debating on waiting for it to come out on blue ray but might just buy it on iTunes.

••••MUST WATCH ••••

It's really bad...

I LOVED Pineapple Express, Superbad, This is the End...but this is bad...really, really, really bad. I didn't watch the last ten minutes it was so bad. Great for people who's brains haven't fully developed yet.

Worth buying!

If you enjoyed Pineapple Express you will definitely enjoy this Rogan/Franco movie as well. You'll laugh, maybe cry, and it will change the way you feel about Katie Perry LOL.
I'm happy with my decision to buy vs. rent this one!
