Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: In the worst possible case, this could go on and on, but please, let's hope it doesn't. – Stephen Holden, New York Times, Oct 21, 2011

Rotten: Seriously: What the hell? – Michael Phillips, Chicago Tribune, Oct 20, 2011

Rotten: Call it the Robert Downey Jr. Meets Sherlock Holmes Effect. A classic popular adventure gets overblown, juiced-up, and generally CGI-ified. – Mark Feeney, Boston Globe, Oct 23, 2011

Rotten: Even the most liberal viewer is likely to echo Milady's thoughts of D'Artagnan: "You are very amiable, no doubt, but you would be charming if you would only depart." – Elizabeth Weitzman, New York Daily News, Oct 24, 2011

All in Good Fun

Never mind the reviews: unless you're expecting a classic, historical epic, this movie is excellent! It's a steampunk interpretation of The Three Musketeers, and follows the plot of most adaptations. The actors are having fun and the viewers feel it. Logan Lerman is delightfully cocky as D'Artagnan, King Louis XIII provides comic relief and you wouldn't recognize Orlando Bloom as the evil, metrosexual Duke of Buckingham. I really recommend this movie for a fun evening.

Loved it!

Didnt care what the critics said, it's was definitely not what I expected from the commercials which appeared to be a serious movie. It was great fun!

Cheese? Yes. Over the top? Sure. Fun? You bet.
I think some of the people who wrote reviews don't know how to enjoy a movie with some good humor and very well done action scenes.
I would actually say this is Paul Anderson's best movie yet.
