About the Movie

Sex. Money. Power. Drugs. Brace yourself for an outrageous true story from legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese that critics are calling “a masterpiece for a new generation.”* Leonardo DiCaprio delivers “the best performance of his career”** as a young stockbroker hungry for a life of non-stop thrills, where corruption was king and more was never enough. His rise to power earned him the title The Wolf of Wall Street. Together, Scorsese and DiCaprio deliver a story of American excess that is “an absolute blast from start to finish.”

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Man, does this movie have a savage bite. – Betsy Sharkey, Los Angeles Times, Dec 26, 2013

Fresh: Scorsese unleashes a furious, yet exquisitely controlled, kinetic energy, complete with a plunging and soaring camera, mercurial and conspicuous special effects, counterfactual scenes, subjective fantasies, and swirling choreography on a grand scale. – Richard Brody, New Yorker, Dec 29, 2013

Rotten: I couldn't buy it, and couldn't wait for the hollow spectacle to end. – Joe Morgenstern, Wall Street Journal, Dec 26, 2013

Fresh: DiCaprio has hinted before that comedy might be his natural calling -- think of Catch Me If You Can -- but his energy here is not just fun, it's discovery. – David Thomson, The New Republic, Jan 9, 2014

Awful people - behaving badly

Hard to get excited about a movie that glorifies venality drug abuse and corruption. Too many naked women and too much loveless sex. Cannot understand why it was nominated for anything. Two thumbs down. Leo did the best he could with a lame script but could not get this story to seem worth my time!

It really just goes to show how little effort you can put in a movie, and yet millions still flock to it and claim it to be a "great" movie. Leo, don't get me wrong, you're a great actor, but this movie is utter hipster crap. The plot is as thick as water and the acting more transparent than a pane of glass. No more please..

This is probably one of the greatest, if not THE greatest movie of all time!
