Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: For every lively moment, there's a reminder that the franchise is tiring. The genre's emphasis on potential mass death is obsessive and unimaginative. – Glenn Kenny, New York Times, May 26, 2016

Rotten: Enough already. Singer throws so much mutant at us that nothing sticks. I was almost rooting for Trump to impose a quota. – Peter Travers, Rolling Stone, May 27, 2016

Fresh: Those who have seen the previous "X-Men" movies will likely feel motivated to keep their run complete, and over 2 hours and 23 minutes, they mostly get their money's worth. – Brian Lowry, CNN.com, May 26, 2016

Fresh: Even the hardcore geeks who like to get their Comic-Con on might be feeling a little superhero fatigue right about now. Still. You owe it to yourself to see Quicksilver do his thing. – Richard Roeper, Chicago Sun-Times, May 26, 2016

Waste

The cool build up of evil- and than ... nothing.

"Sure I could kill everyone with my mind, but instead I'll stand here for 20minutes while they attack, & them kill me"

What a movie!

Am I the only one who felt like this was a truly epic x-men movie. I loved it from beginning to end. It’s just so rich with characters and it actually is quiet a fun summer hit. Do not believe all the negativity, X-men Apocalypse is the best x-men film ever (besides Deadpool)

Really Good!

Critics were really mixed for this movie. Which really sucks because when you go on metacritic or Rotten tomatoes it doesn't look good. Sure after Days of Future past (my favourite X-men movie) it doesn't quite reach the same heights. Fortunately it was still a blast!! It kept so much more to comics, and had the original characters reimagined (Jean, Cyclops, and Storm etc...) all in great ways. Also that one Quicksilver scene. Better than the first. The movie is not perfect but it was a lot of fun!
