About the Movie

Disney presents a heartwarming comedy-adventure set in the modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia. With habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it’s a melting pot where animals from every environment live together—a place where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything. But when optimistic Officer Judy Hopps arrives, she discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn’t so easy. Determined to prove herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with fast-talking scam-artist fox Nick Wilde to solve the mystery.

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: There are enough under-the-radar subtleties, rendered with a refreshing lack of smart-aleckiness, to make Zootopia feel current and fresh. It's a modest, unassuming entertainment that's motored by a sly sensibility. – Stephanie Zacharek, TIME Magazine, Dec 30, 2016

Fresh: "Zootopia," like its heroine, is zesty, bright, and breakneck, with chase scenes and well-tuned gags where you half expect songs to be. – Anthony Lane, New Yorker, Mar 7, 2016

Fresh: Zootopia excels on so many levels that it stands with the finest of the Disney classics. – Lou Lumenick, New York Post, Mar 10, 2016

Fresh: There's a lot here for kids to like and nearly as much to keep parents from fidgeting. – James Berardinelli, ReelViews, Mar 6, 2016

Whatever you’re looking for this film has it!

I had no idea what to expect form Zootopia. A bunny who wants to be a police officer was about it. That, however, is but the tiniest tip of the iceberg of this wonderful story of a rabbit (a female rabbit) who wants to be the first police officer of her species in the fictional metropolis of Zootopia.

Her colourful dreams of the future and ambitions are soon quashed by a city that doesn’t care about what she wants or expects. Enter fox Nick Wilde, a scheming scammer who reluctantly becomes her partner to help solve a series of predator disappearances.

As strange as this sounds it’s a story that covers the gamut of societal problems we’re all facing today: from sexism to discrimination, to police/community relations to crooked politicians and a panicked media to the peddling fo fear to keep a population in it’s place. It’s a wonderful, timely yarn that proves once again Pixar produces superior stories that often leaves it’s live action counterparts choking in its dust.
