Interesting Podcast
I find this podcast extremely interesting and love all the guests. I do prefer the older episodes where they were more focused on guests’ best and worst cases. I do enjoy their briefs on breaking news in true crime, but I skip these episodes much more often. I wish it was more on track with the original premise and they interviewed new guests more. Overall, it’s a really good listen, but it is incredibly frustrating when guests are talking and being interrupted with questions and quips every few seconds. I want to be able to hear their stories.
Great podcasts
I’ve just started binging this show. Not only do Francey and Jim give really interesting insights into the cases, but it really gives the law-enforcement outsider an insight into the effect these cases have on the men and women who work in the field. I really appreciate how passionate and caring both Francey and Jim are. It’s also very powerful to hear about so many lesser-known (or frankly, unknown) cases.
Stigma and bias abound
I’m giving this podcast a 3 out of my respect for Jim Clemente but more often than not I find myself turning it off before the end of an episode because of his cohost’s clearly basic and discriminatory views on mental illness and the way she champions the American prison industrial complex over rehabilitation. Just gross. Stop using language like “lunatic” and “wacko” to start.
