Can humans possess superpowers? Does mind control really exist? What’s behind the forensic technology of the hit TV show CSI? On this episode of Beyond Disciplines, we explore some of the science behind the biggest myths Hollywood ever told.

To help us out with that, we’ll hear from 4 researchers at Concordia who work in science, but who also like to ponder the limits of the paranormal.

    * Richard Courtemanche from the department of Exercise Science examines if Superman could exist in real life.

    * Brigitte Desharnais, a PhD student in chemistry and biochemistry, regularly dons a white coat to work in forensic science labs, and will bust some of the myths behind your favourite TV crime shows.

    * Brandon Findlay, a professor in the Chemistry department, will tell us how to survive a zombie apocalypse,

    * And Angela Alberga, also of the Exercise Science department, will bring us back down to earth, and tell us why maybe striving for superhero bodies and powers might not be such a good idea.
