    Audrey Brehm v. DJ Nice

    Audrey Brehm v. DJ Nice

Audrey Brehm (Radio Free Tote Bag) joins us for the first time to discuss how she got blocked after a Facebook comments exchange with an EDM DJ about wage inequality. 2012 was simply a different time. We have hell of a time on this episode though, as we discuss our grandparents, working retail, our tortured fandom for the Leafs and Canucks, and Star Wars miniature tournaments. Plus, we talk about c*nty outfits, Michael Cohen talks that talk in court, and former NBA player Glen "Big Baby" Davis waxes poetic on being sentenced to 40 months in prison.

If you don't want to go to prison, then you must donate to support the Blocked Boys at patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you THREE bonus episodes every single month. Last week, Mark Chavez returned to the show to help guide us through a Harold Pinter script in the latest edition of Actor Party. And this week, Danielle Florence returns to answer YOUR questions in the mailbag. We also have ad-free episodes, video episodes, merch discounts, and more!

Audrey Brehm is the co-host of Radio Free Tote Bag, an advice podcast, and it's available wherever you get your pods. You can follow her on Twitter at @rftbaudrey.

    Myles Anderson v. Tony Robbins

    Myles Anderson v. Tony Robbins

Myles Anderson (comedian) returns to the show after a 5-year layoff (our fault) to show us what happens when you talk about Tony Robbins on your YouTube channel that analyzes stand-up comedians. Hint: it's not good! We get into a lot of knife talk on the pod, as Myles gets stopped by airport security and we remember some our fondest memories with knives. We also discuss some of our favorite early Flash games, Leisure Suit Larry, BMX XXX, Dan introduces us to Stroker for the Commodore 64, and we check in on the new menu at our ol' top Wisconsin haunt, Every Buddy's Bar and Grill. Plus, Myles fights with a Norwegian, the Edmonton Oilers release a heinous playoff rap, and IMC loves what Grok AI has to offer him with regards to the Drake/Kendrick beef.

If you don't want to have a beef with us, support the show by heading on over to our Patreon at patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to THREE bonus episodes every single month. This week, Actor Party triumphantly returns, as Mark Chavez runs the Blocked Boys through a Harold Pinter script, complete with British accents. That goes as well as you think. We also have ad-free episodes, merch discounts, and more, so check it out!

Myles Anderson is a comedian whose new special, Myles Per Hour, is out this week through 800 Pound Gorilla Records. You can also watch his breakdowns of stand-up comedy specials at the Bachelors of Music YouTube page, and you can find his tour dates and other stuff by following him on Instagram at @myles.banderson.

Broomgate: A Curling Scandal, Episode 1: The Mystery Broom

Broomgate: A Curling Scandal, Episode 1: The Mystery Broom

It's a feed drop! John here. As you may (or may not) know, over the past two years, I have been working on a curling podcast about our sport's biggest ever scandal, Broomgate. (Yes, it's actually called that). It's a cool story filled with niche sports drama, amazing personalities, and narration/writing/producing by me. And as I write this, it is the #1 podcast in Canada. Actually.
We have never posted an episode of anything else in the BP feed, and I respect that this may be a bit weird for some of you, but I just really wanted you to hear this series. I hope you enjoy it. This is the only episode we'll be doing this with, so don't fear that the BP feed will be overrun with curling content. The feed goes back to normal next Monday and will stay that way.
If you like the episode, please head on over to the Broomgate: A Curling Scandal feed and follow/subscribe. Episode 2 is already out, and then it'll be a new episode every Monday until the conclusion of the podcast's sixth episode. You can get there by clicking here: https://link.chtbl.com/6rO6FUAd.

    Mike Rugnetta v. Trump Merch

    Mike Rugnetta v. Trump Merch

Mike Rugnetta (podcaster) joins the show for the first time to tell us about the weirdly specific subset of products that his Twitter feed is currently being dominated by: Donald Trump merch. We go over the entire insane product line, and update Mike on the dumb Twitter ads we are getting up here in Canada. It's a big week over on Bluesky, as they've added gifs, and we discuss Taco Bell, the Filet O'Fish, Long John Silver's, the Scorpion Bar at Foxboro Stadium, and we listen in to what DJ Jon Gosselin has been laying down lately. Plus, Mike's TikTok algorithm is overrun by the Chinese Industrial Complex, Rod Black gets a heartwarming baseball moment with his son, and we check in on our good friend Tito Ortiz.

If you want to provide us with some heartwarming feelings, you can donate to the show at patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to THREE bonus episodes every single month. Last week, Pat Gill joined us to break down Canada's insane 90s video gaming show, Video and Arcade Top 10, and it was a true delight. We also have ad-free episodes, merch discounts, and over 150 episodes in the back catalogue, so don't miss out!

Mike Rugnetta is a podcaster whose latest podcast, Never Post, is available now wherever you get your pods. You can follow him on Twitter at @mikerugnetta.

    Maddy Kelly v. Stand-Up Haters

    Maddy Kelly v. Stand-Up Haters

Maddy Kelly (comedian/writer) returns to the show to discuss her newest hobby: finding people who reply weirdly or negatively to women who do stand-up online, and telling them to f off. It's working well, and she's getting blocked. It's a snack-heavy episode as Maddy has moved back to LA and pines for the days of Canadian junk food. We also discuss In-n-Out, potato chip rotations, burger tourism, and first dates. Plus, Maddy is only logging onto Instagram from her desktop, Stefan hits us with a Naomi Wolf update, and Drew Carey lands on a different astral plane at the Phish concert at the Sphere.

If you want to hit a different astral plane, may we suggest listening to Blocked Party bonus content? Over at patreon.com/blockedparty, $5/month gets you THREE bonus episodes every damn month. Dropping TODAY is our latest Canadian Education Programme episode, as Mr. Pizza Suplex himself, Pat Gill, joins us to discuss a Canadian institution: Video and Arcade Top 10. We also have a new Cameo episode up with Gianmarco Soresi, ad-free episodes, an exclusive Discord, and MORE!

Maddy Kelly is a comedian whose latest podcast, "Let's Make a Horror" is out now wherever you get your pods. You can follow her on Instagram (on her desktop) at @itsmaddykelly.

    Erin Wood v. Mr. Clean

    Erin Wood v. Mr. Clean

Erin Wood (comedian) joins the show to tell us about getting banned from the Facebook group of Mr. Clean...for telling "him" about a dream she had? Involving him? Shirtless? It's a good time. And so is the episode, as we discuss our word games habit, John doing the new lamest thing he's ever done, our teenage party experiences, cartoons, and Erin takes umbrage with something Stefan and John enjoy. Plus, Erin deleted all her social media, Stefan shows us some rejected vanity license plates, and John introduces Stefan and Erin to scenic pisses.

If you don't want to piss us off, you can donate to the show at patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you THREE bonus episodes every month! Last week, Gianmarco Soresi rejoined the show to watch some horrible Cameos with us, and we discovered our new favorite guy on Cameo: UFC fighter Nick Diaz. We also have ad-free episodes, merch discounts, and more, so check it out!

Erin Wood is a comedian who does not have social media, but if you live in Calgary, you can go to her weekly open mic Ratboy (it's great! Maybe you'll see John!), which is at Vern's Pub every Wednesday at 8:30 pm.

Great but missing one thing

I love this podcast but it needs more Joey World Tour content

Why have guests when you leave them hanging?

Even if you are not ‘very online’ this can still be an alright show to listen to. There are some things that I don’t care for (stories get repeated way too often, playing video clips on an audio show, etc). But no podcast is perfect and those I could overlook.

But one thing that really hurts the show is the interaction with guests. If it is someone the hosts know really well then the vibe and interaction is fine. But when it’s someone they haven’t met or dont really know it can be rough. There are times where the hosts spend 5 or 10 minutes talking about something the guest clearly has no interest in and instead of switching topics the guest just sits in silence. Even more awkward is when Stefan tries to get the guest interested in a fast food guy or some disgusting video. And instead of backing off when the person is clearly not interested/comfortable he just pushes even harder which is really tough to listen to.

I also don’t get the hate towards Jon. He has the better radio voice, and has probably saved the show from having guests just hang up or walk out of the studio. Blocked Party without Jon is just The Go Off Kings which people can already watch.

But the show does have a lot of lesser known Canadian comics/actors on. In that regard I do really like getting to hear from new voices instead of ‘the usual’ podcast world people. Overall the podcast is worth a listen even with its faults. No show is perfect and it’s easy enough to just move on to another episode when things with the guest are going wrong.
