Customer Reviews
Hundreds of hours of joyful ear treasure for you
Brian Ibbott is the ideal host, with a genius concept, perfectly executed and reliably produced for over 1400 shows. He’s personable, knowledgeable and funny, and has deep crates.
Good news for misophonic listeners, earworm haters, readers, studying people, and those who might take a nap:
- Audio production is top quality, great levels, clean voice mic
- Brian has a mellifluous and natural professional voice
- Sponsor ads are infrequent, read by the host and maintain the same sound levels as the rest of the production. They usually appear in the intro. (the fact I can’t remember if there might also ever be one during the show is testament to their unobtrusive nature!)
- Intro and extro music is long and might earworm you, but not a big deal
Here’s something else — Ibbott’s show notes are not just a playlist with artists and titles. He’s built a comprehensive, complete database of original artist, cover artist, song title, original release information, cover release information, links to purchase music, and cross-referenced links to previous episodes featuring any of the songs or artists going back to the beginning of time. It is BEAUTIFUL. You can follow your interest as deep down this Alice in Wonderland rabbit hole as you want.
- Great download for road trips
- The perfect combo of familiar and new, in varying musical styles
- You will find new artists to love, some from completely unexpected sources
- All episodes are archived on the website, with the aforementioned database and a truly useful search feature.
Thank you, Brian Ibbott!
Top notch quality production
Brian does a great job compiling an eclectic assortment of tracks for each episode. Whether it’s focused on a particular artist, a look back at the historical charts or some other theme he always finds tracks that I like to listen to over and over
A great listen
I’ve been listening to this for years, and there is always something new and enjoyable.
