Just resubscribed!

I can't even remember how I found this podcast but I've been listening off & on since maybe episode 5. I just heard Shannon on Snap Judgement and it reminded me to resubscribe. Shannon has tried using the podcast to put out some writing exercises, short stories, and true stories, both live and in studio. I think there have been some good ones right from the start but his podcast definitely tends to get better as it goes on. It sounds like he's getting enough attention that he's now touring with Snap , the Moth, etc. It's great to know that hes getting that kind of recognition.

I listen to a LOT of podcasts but this is my first review. Shannon's doing this on his own, for the love of writing and performing. I want to let him know that I appreciate his work and hope he keeps podcasting even as bigger opportunities seem to be opening up. Thanks Shannon!

I first heard some of Shannon's great stories on NPR's Snap Judgement. Then I found out he had his own podcast. The stories are both funny and bittersweet and deeply human. He tells very candid stories of his life, from growing up in Detroit, hanging out and making hiphop with a crew that included J Dilla, and having all kinds of adventures and misadventures. If you like stories, such as stuff from This American Life, The Moth, or Snap Judgement, I think you'll like this podcast. And if you just enjoy good stories told by a master storyteller with awesome and eclectic musical interludes, you like it too!

Top notch stories

If you like The Moth and Snap Judgement, you’ll love this podcast. Shannon Cason’s homemade stories are real, raw, and hugely entertaining. He offers up stories from his own life and fiction of his own creation, all mixed with smooth beats in the background. Shannon’s skills as a raconteur are up with the best of storytelling legends. Don’t miss.
