luckily I found this helpful and insightful jewel. 1st episode is great and a real blessing. Where's the second, third and fourth?

An uplifting word - if not one that makes you think Jesus

Joel has the gift of encouragement. So did Jesus. Jesus also taught us to go against our nature and live in an other centered way. Put others needs before your own, help those who can't pay you back, make helping the poor something that you strive to do. Living the life of victory? Sounds ok - But how about living a life of service? I'm sure anyone with just a bit of knowledge about Jesus' life would know that he wasn't so concerned with us overcoming criticism, enlarging our circle of love, being comfortable with who we are, finding favor. He told us that if we followed him then it wouldn't be that easy - hard times would come, and that we learn more through difficulty then through the good and easy times. We also know that its harder for a rich man to lay his life down for Jesus. IF you want an encouraging word - listen to Joel. But I don't think Jesus came to make us feel good about ourselves and comfortable with who we are - he came to save us and to teach us how to live different than the world does. What's your motivation ? To get to know Jesus - or to get comfortable and be uplifted? Jesus will uplift you when you are humble and put others above your self. If all someone listened to was Joel Osteen it is very possible in my opinion to be very wrapped up in yourself. I've listened to over 20 sermons of Joel's - and I would not recommend them to people who want to be more like Jesus and to people who are interested in exploring real Chrisitanity.

Daishi should keep it to him/herself

Joel Osteen's preaching is most inspiring. If it's as simple as daishi said "forget the past, things will be great", it's true you don't have to listen to anything/anybody. But the truth is it is not that simple. You have to somehow form better habits. The big question is how. Joel Osteen is the one who can teach you how. I found his preaching very realistic and easy to apply. I listen to his preaching repeatedly every morning while I get ready for work. My days always turn out better/happier...
