Outstanding Technology and Productivity Podcast

I've been listening to Mac Power Users since it first launched in 2009 and consider it one of the best technology and productivity podcasts on the Internet. Katie and David are both highly experienced Mac and iOS users with a wealth of information to share. They also invite a wide variety of guests to provide details on how they're using technology, including specifics on the apps that they use and their workflows. There's a real depth to the topics covered on the show and I've personally benefited enormously from information shared by Katie, David and their guests.

Useful, Inspiring, Stimulating

Discovered the podcast through the 5by5 network. Had heard of it on occasion but had never taken the time to listen to it. Since the move to 5by5, it’s been a valuable resource, to me.
The “back catalogue” is full of useful stuff. Listened to both Merlin Mann episodes (23 and 46; looking forward to episode 69) as well as other “workflow” (interview) shows and a few topical ones. It all sent me on a productivity spree and, honestly, I’m rediscovering my Mac.
In fact, it’s one of the only shows which had a direct impact on my purchasing pattern. With most shows, I may get intrigued by an advertised product, but end up looking for alternatives, often to better results than with advertised products. With MPU, I’ve not only rediscovered apps I had previously purchased but I’ve purchased several things which I already find to be enhancing my workflow.
Otherwise, discussion of diverse topics has helped me rethink several aspects of my Mac usage and, in a matter of weeks, I’ve been transforming the way I use my Mac.

Love the Podcast

I switched to a Mac back in the fall and would be lost without this podcast. I think I listed to 20-30 episodes over the first couple of weeks of use of my MacBook Air and found helpful advice on how to get it setup, what software to purchase, how others get the most out of their mac and really just how to begin down the road of becoming an all around Apple geek.

The hosts David and Katie interact well, easy to listen to and obviously put a lot of thought and effort into the episodes to ensure they are helpful for the listener. They also bring on an eclectic mix of mac enthusiasts and power users who are able to give insight on how they get the most out of their Apple products to increase their productivity.

The only downside is that I've spent a fortune on all of the software recommendations! I'm not an OmniFocus user, own most Smile products, DaisyDisk, ByWord, Pixelmator, etc….So this is a word for software developers out there, if you make a software product that David and Katie like and sponsor their show, it's pretty much guaranteed I'll be buying it! Joking aside, they do have sponsors to cover the costs involved, but it is obvious they are products they love and use.

Keep up the great work!
