Calming and informative
Thank you ladies for such a lovely podcast. I have returned to sewing after many years away, and have found your shows and the community (which I joined!) to approach sewing so thoughtfully and intentionally. It has truly helped lower my anxiety about sewing clothing, as well as my anxiety overall! Listening to you guys driving to and from work is a tonic! 😊
I learned to sew from my mom as a teenager, but didn’t have much patience at the time… my return to sewing now, without my mom to guide me has made me miss her all the more…but your lovely guidance and encouragement has helped to fill that gap…and I think my mom would be super proud. Thanks again, Robin
Design Your Wardrobe Changed my Life!
Episode 182 describes the Seamwork method to collection planning called Design Your Wardrobe. I first did the course when going through a big life change. The exercises helped me better understand myself and further, what mattered to me. The process of defining and naming my collection became my mantra. Whether sewing or shopping, understanding my wardrobe intentions and goals has helped me feel confident and comfortable. Before I commit time, energy and money to a purchase or project I ask myself, does this piece have Big Cat Energy? If yes, it’s going to work with my wardrobe and lifestyle. The lessons of episode 182 are life lessons as much as they are sewing tips. This sewing podcast is so much more than a hobby guide, it is a supportive community led by thoughtful and talented women who understand that when they are talking about sewing, they are speaking to a way of being and creating that shapes how we live and our relationship to what we create, and what we choose with intention. Thank you Seamwork.
