Song Talk Radio is a fun, loose, free-wheeling weekly radio show for songwriters. It is not a singer/songwriter showcase or an interview show, but a way for songwriters to talk about all the technical aspects of writing songs, sharing what they've learned along the way and how we can all get better at writing songs. Started as the Songwriters Cafe in Toronto Canada, via MeetUp.com, the show is hosted by Bruce, Neel and Phil. Each week a songwriter – anyone from fresh noob’s to grizzled pro’s sporting numerous hits – plays 2 songs and we examine those and whatever else pops up along the way. The show is open to every genre you can think of: pop, rock, folk, jazz, punk, electronica, dance, and Rap. Songwriters perform live or play pre-recorded tracks. It's a blast. Think of it like one of those talking head sports shows – ‘cept with less yelling - well, a bit less yelling...

Unique songwriting talk show hosted by a trio of seasoned & quick-witted musicians!
Song Talk Radio is any songwriter's haven, dishing out helpful feedback and tips on lyric writing, music composition, arrangement and vocal performance.
Hosts Phil, Neel and Bruce each bring their unique personalities and perspectives to the show but play really well off each other, making for a laid-back and often humorous experience. They also know "their stuff" though, having been in the songwriting game for a while now, and you can tell that songwriters on the show really appreciate being able to talk about their music in a meaningful way.
What's also cool about the show for guest songwriters is getting to reflect on their songwriting journey, as well as play three of their original songs which are each discussed by the group with respect to the ins and outs of the songwriting process.
This show just keeps getting better and better! 5 stars!
Funny and Informative
Not just useful for Toronto's musicians but also very humorous and relaxing to unwind to for fans. :)
Love this podcast!
Love your show! Since I’m just getting into songwriting your show is so helpful. It’s great how you also always give definitions for the terms you’re talking about. Keep it up 👍🏻
