I hope that Hilary Mantel wins the Booker!

Your podcast was the first to make me aware of her extraordinary new book, Wolf Hall.

A great guardian of book culture

I listen to a lot of books podcasts, but this is the first one I turn to when my downloads are updated. Claire Armitstead is a wonderful host (which is not a given on a books podcast!) and the reporting is always relevant, diverse, well-balanced and entertaining. I live in Canada but have strong ties to the UK and love the Guardian. We have nothing here that measures up to this show, and I am grateful to the Guardian for making it. Long live The Book!

It's good, but....

I really enjoy the podcast, but it does come off as being a little pretentious at times, in that it doesn't reflect the everyday reading habits of the vast majority of listeners to the podcast. Comes off a little high brow at times.
