Like comfortable slippers
Stuart's stories, whether they are of Dave & Morley and the gang or of his tales of his adventures across Canada, never ever fail to be humourous, poignant, warm, and gratifying. His live shows have that added spark of an audience that sits in silence waiting for the story to unravel and laughs along with you as the tales flow so effortlessly and vividly from Stuart. His stories of the people he meets in his travels across Canada reminds me how similar we all are and he is able to make Canada feel like a village, that BC is just around the corner, you can almost see the wheat fields of the prairies or smell the odour of Parliament in Ottawa. Do yourself a favour and listen to Stuart where you will not be interupted and pretty soon you will demand NOT to be interupted whenever you listen to The Vinyl Cafe. Keep up the good work Stuart and the Vinyl Cafe Gang! Cheers from Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia.
the greatest thing to come to podcasting!
after waiting and waiting, finally the vinyl cafe has come to the podcasting! the stories are amazing, people of all ages can always sit down and appreciate the antics of dave and morley. ive struggled for years to make sure my radio was on at the right time on the right day because the books just dont have quite the same charm as hearing stuart read the stories. but now i have access to weekly doses of the vinyl cafe and i couldnt be happier!
Stuart McLean is one of the best story tellers...period. I've been waiting for his stories to come into podcast form for a long time, and the day has finally arrived. Thank you CBC!
