The Women Beyond Belief Podcast features interviews with women who have left religion. Wendy Marsman, who is a former Evangelical missionary to Brazil, hosts the podcast. The name is also the title of a book by author Dr. Karen Garst, Women Beyond Belief: Discovering Life Without Religion. The podcast is a platform for women to express the frustrations, anger and loneliness they find when they exit religion. It is for any woman who is de-converting and finding freedom outside the walls of the church. It can open up doors of opportunity for women who were from religious backgrounds where women’s voices were suppressed. The podcast is for Humanist, Feminist, Agnostic and Atheist women who have left religion and together are Women Beyond Belief.

Bringing women together

I listened to your pilot episode on the way home from work today. It brought tears to my eyes at the end. You have no idea how much it means to me that you are bringing women like us together and I have a community that validates my feelings and understands from the heart our unique situations. I hope to be a be a guest someday when I get enough courage! I don't have a spectacular, out of the ordinary story, but it's still a story. Thanks again for all you are doing for our community

Nothing Quite Like It

This podcast is unique in that there has not yet been another created to support women leaving religion. Each episode is deeply meaningful and moving. Covering the wide spectrum of philosophical, sexual and social changes that happen with such fundamental belief system changes. What it does for feminism, and for humanizing those that leave their religion is especially important in the current state of the world! Would absolutely recommend it to men and women of all beliefs - a true priviledged view into the life of curageous women who have experienced astonishing transformations. The host, Wendy, conducts the interviews with the perfect ballance of personalism and realness (with a voice that is very easy to listen to), keep up the great work!

Enjoyable, Important, Personal and Real

I've just finished listening to all 10 (so far) episodes of this podcast, and have really enjoyed listening to all of them. Wendy is an engaging host who brings just the right mix of professional hosting and personal vulnerability. Even though some of the episodes include discussions of some more complicated psychological and sociological issues, the overall premise of the whole series of podcasts seems fairly simple: provide an opportunity for women who do not believe in a personal God to tell their story. As an atheist listener, I find the stories encouraging even if they are sometimes disturbing and/or challenging. As a male listener, I appreciate hearing about these things from women's perspectives.
