ANNE is a coming-of-age story about an outsider who, against all odds and many challenges, fights for love and acceptance and her place in the world. Set in Prince Edward Island in the late 1890s, the series centers on Anne Shirley (Amybeth McNulty), a young orphaned girl who, after an abusive childhood spent in orphanages and the homes of strangers, is mistakenly sent to live with an aging sister and brother. Over time, 13-year-old Anne will transform the lives of Marilla (Geraldine James) and Matthew Cuthbert (R.H. Thomson) and eventually the entire small town in which they live with her unique spirit, fierce intellect and brilliant imagination. Anne's adventures will reflect timeless and topical issues including themes of identity, feminism, bullying and prejudice.

Anne is determined to prove to them that girls can do anything boys can do and more. Much to her chagrin the cards aren’t stacked in her favor, and when Marilla’s treasured brooch goes missing Anne pays the price.||1:28:28||$2.99||View in iTunes|

Here he finds himself completely outside his comfort zone, and face to face with his high school crush, a woman he hasn’t seen in decades. Anne, CBC 2017
Simply a charming, entertaining broadcast! Bravo CBC. to be smitten with the precocious Anne again is a delightful surprise! Well crafted, written adapatation.
A bit dark
As a long time fan of Anne, books and tv series, I am reluctant to say it after only one episode but although this series is beautifully filmed it is making me a bit uncomfortable rather than delighted. This Anne is darker than usual and (so far) lacks the light, wry humour of the books. Anne's backstory is delved into in disturbing flashbacks and she seems less impetuous and romantic than a bit depressed. But maybe nothing can compare to either Megan Follows or my own imagination! I'll keep watching and see.
This is a great version of Anne of Green Gables, the best version. Anne has more depth and dimension. Beautiful cinematography and excellent actors.
