|HDVideoThe Thrill of the Find!||After months of searching with friends Cherri and David for a cottage to buy together in Muskoka, it’s love at first sight when Colin and Justin discover a 4 –bedroom log home on a quiet little lake.||22:07||$1.99||View in iTunes
|HDVideoReady, Set, Demo! (Guest Room)||Colin and Justin move into their cottage and meet with their contractor Dan to get this reno started! Dan’s plan? Start on the 2nd floor, then tackle the basement, and meet in the middle to tackle the Kitchen and Great Room. Everything has to be in keeping with his tight schedule if they’re to finish on time and on budget. The first room they’ll take on is the dated and dowdy 2nd floor guest room. Colin and Justin reckon they can take this on themselves and, when it’s finished, have a clean and comfortable place to sleep while they live in the construction zone.||22:09||$1.99||View in iTunes
|HDVideoOut With the Fake Tan, And in With the 5-Star Glamour||Cherri and David are trusting Colin and Justin to work their design magic throughout the cottage. But when it comes to the spaces that will be specifically for Cherri and David, the boys are feeling a little more pressure. And to start, this bathroom needs a glamorous, spa-like transformation. Smashing tile, sanding floors, peeling wallpaper are all quite satisfying but if the boys don’t wow Cherri and David with their idea of a spectacular makeover of their master bathroom, how will their co-owners feel about the rest of the reno?||22:08||$1.99||View in iTunes
|HDVideoLess Is More! (Cherri & David's Bedroom)||Co-owners Cherri and David loved their new bathroom so Colin and Justin are confident they have carte blanche to make all the design decisions for the cottage. But they do make some unique decisions. Seriously, who takes away a bedroom at a cottage? You need more space for guests, not less. But, for Colin and Justin, quality trumps quantity and they’re going to great lengths to expand the largest bedroom to give Cherri and David a master suite that would rival any 5-star resort. Of course they’ll see the logic of losing a bedroom to create a fabulous room with a view. Won’t they?||22:08||$1.99||View in iTunes
|HDVideoHot Tub to Go! (Lower Level Family Room)||With the second floor of the cottage complete, it’s time to follow Dan downstairs to fully gut the basement to create the blank slate that will become the shared family room and Colin and Justin’s bedroom with ensuite bathroom. But first, that hot tub’s gotta go!||22:08||$1.99||View in iTunes
|HDVideoSomething’s Rotten (Dock / Hot Tub / Firepit)||With so much work going on inside the cottage, Colin & Justin take a breather outside to soak in the view, commune with nature, and remember what about Muskoka they fell in love with. Quite pleased with themselves to be on budget at this point in the reno, and only a little behind time, they envision a proper home for the hot tub, nestled into the trees as opposed to the basement! The boys dream of a brilliant outdoor living space with plants, and granite and beauty from the hot tub right down to the dock. But, here comes Dan with today’s reality check. Their dock is rotten and sinking and needs to be replaced. But, this wasn’t in the budget!?! Now this is a sticky wicket.||22:08||$1.99||View in iTunes
|HDVideoShut the Barn Door (Colin & Justin’s Master Bedroom)||What do you get when you mix a Scottish Hunting Lodge with a 5 Star luxury retreat? The perfect rustic master suite for Colin & Justin! Their most personal living space is next on the list as Dan and the boys work to finish the basement,. While Dan’s list includes drywall, recessed lighting, and installation of French doors to the Muskoka Room, Colin & Justin think flooring, paint, stain, a fabulous headboard, fabrics, and more. And, when it comes to fabric … you can take the boys out of Scotland, but ye can’t take the Scotland out of the boys!||22:09||$1.99||View in iTunes
|HDVideoThe Best Laid Plans … (Muskoka Room)||The Muskoka Room was one of the biggest selling features of the cottage. It’s a bright, open-feeling space off the lower level that really is all about bringing the outdoors, indoors. With a brilliant view to the lake, this is just the place you want to be comfortable to relax and take in the beauty of the natural surroundings. Sounds good in theory, but the room itself is a bit of a pit. That said, the boys plan to do a quick, easy makeover … paint the floor, bring in stylish new furnishings and voila, it’s become a lovely comfortable space. But when you find out that the ceiling is about to collapse?!?! Coming up with a new plan would be easy with limitless resources, but Colin and Justin start to wonder if they’re in over their heads.||22:10||$1.99||View in iTunes
|HDClosed CaptioningVideoFrom Bleak to Chic: Colin & Justin’s Ensuite Bathroom||Changing the layout of the basement allows for a larger bathroom that Colin and Justin have made ensuite to their new bedroom. With the old bathroom gone, the mould and mice dealt with, it’s time to think ‘style’ for their very own space. Colin is inspired by a photograph he took of a bomb shelter, Justin isn’t feeling it. They agree that as their own client they can experiment and take risks they wouldn’t for someone else. But Justin remains unconvinced that Colin’s ‘bleak chic’ design is something they’ll be happy with. Colin is so sure that ‘bleak chic’ is the way to go that he’s going to carry on, and prove to Justin that they’ll both love it when it’s done. And if not, at least they’ll be ready if they need a bunker!||22:09||$1.99||View in iTunes
|HDClosed CaptioningVideoA New Little Shack in the Woods (Bunkie)||For most people, ‘Bunkie’ means a tiny cabin with room for bunk beds and that’s it. But Colin and Justin have a big vision and want their Bunkie to provide more than the comfort of home for visiting friends and relatives. At 650 square feet, there are huge challenges to getting their dream Bunkie onsite … have they taken on too big a project?!?||22:10||$1.99||View in iTunes
|HDClosed CaptioningVideoAnd now what? (Bunkie, Part 2)||This is supposed to be the fun part! Colin and Justin love their fabrics and furnishings, some upcycling and artwork. But, with so much still to be done in the cottage, can they really get it together and furnish another 650 square feet of living space??||22:09||$1.99||View in iTunes
|HDClosed CaptioningVideoThe Heart of the home (Kitchen)||Colin and Justin are really on a rollercoaster ride. While it’s satisfying to get rid of the entire old kitchen, they’re at the end of their rope with living in this kind of chaos. With appliances outside, no place to sit inside, and no plumbing in the kitchen, this adventure is getting to be too much. Luckily, they know what’s coming and if they can just hang in there, this kitchen will soon be transformed from drab, dated and dysfunctional to 5-star fabulous!||22:11||$1.99||View in iTunes
|HDClosed CaptioningVideoThe end is in sight … (Great Room)||Right now this space says ‘log’ and not much more. As the first room you walk into when you enter from the beautiful outdoors, it has to make a statement. Oh, and it will! As for Colin and Justin, they’re starting to wonder if they’ll live to see it but, with shopping on their to-do list, things are looking up!||22:07||$1.99||View in iTunes
