Escobar's bid for each dead policeman proves successful, and the lawmen drop like flies; the paramilitaries assassinate the presidential candidate, Bernardo Jaramillo.

Escobar offers 100,000 dollars for the head of Colonel Pabón; Pablo calls General Pedraza to warn him that the Self-Defense Forces are planning to attack Diego Pizano and thus make it clear that he has nothing to do with the deaths.

Colonel Pabón finds out that Pineda is Chili's informant and that they planned to assassinate Pineda, so he decides to use him as bait; the Government offers a reward of one million dollars for the head of Pablo Escobar.

Thanks to an informant, the colonel's men find Chili and corner him. A leader of the Self-Defense Forces reveals Escobar's whereabouts to the police, but the capo knows how to escape from the most compromising situations.
