loved the first episode. that being said, it's a 3 episode miniseries so how can you justify your season pass price?
Major HIstorical Notes Hit in Intriguing Plots
A series which touches on many major developments and social upheavals happening in London as a backdrop to the plots of murder. Not only are the sets convincing, but also the vocabulary of the characters seem Victorian with no jarring modern language. My only criticism is that I cannot help thinking after having seen lots of British TV, that the accents and regional expressions seem a bit flat, undoubtably for North American consumption. I particularly liked the surreal, supernatural qualities that happened in some episodes, it is too bad it could not have been played up more, perhaps with dream sequences. The romance is handled better than most detective series, and I do like the secondary character development - and would like to see more of it.
I notice that there is also more violence in this than in most typical UK shows I have watched, undoubtably to make it more of interest to us in the North America. I appreciate that this element is not completely out of control and over the top.
I love this show!!! The show continuously keeps you entertained with unexpected twists and turns. I love all the characters brought to life in old England. I can't wait wait for the next episode to air the following week. Please return for a second season!!!!! A big fan!!!!!
