Do not miss the import single of "Now They'll Sleep." How they could leave these three wonderful B-sides off King, when they're clearly superior to half the tracks on it, we'll never know! "Baby's Arm" is the fastest fireball they've ever attempted, with an ingenious monkeying with the tempo to the words "slow down." "John Dark" is a twisted waltz, and "Thief" is a nitty-gritty look at relationships to Donelly's best Patsy Cline warble. All remarkable tracks. In fact, as a start-to-finish great work, this EP beats the LP hands down.

Following several years in Throwing Muses, as well as a brief detour in the Breeders in 1990, Tanya Donelly formed her own band, Belly, in 1992. With Belly, Donelly expanded her dreamy pop hooks into more concise, catchy songs, as well as harder-edged rock.
