The Stooges Essentials

The Stooges Essentials

Punk rock wouldn't be what it is today without Iggy Pop and The Stooges. Embodying a nonconformist ethos both on stage and in the studio, The Stooges' 1969 eponymous debut was an instant classic, with its frantic sound that constantly teetered on the edge of musical mania. Arguably the band peaked artistically after 1973's Raw Power and ultimately saw little commercial success for their efforts. Their legacy influenced generations of bands, however, leading to a triumphant reunion in the '00s that resulted in a pair of new LPs and a cadre of new fans.
