Where so often electronica can be cold and clinical, Nobukazu Takemura crafts richly human soundscapes of remarkable warmth, impressionistic aural collages which achieve a rare balance between man and machine. Funfair is arguably his best work to date, infused with a wide-eyed spirit perfectly in keeping with the Child's View alias; the album's center, the 14-minute epic "Pendulum," is a masterpiece of sound and texture, a circus-like loop which incorporates a child's voice to hauntingly ethereal effect.

Child's View was the alias of experimental electronic composer, DJ, and producer Nobukazu Takemura, who was born in Japan on August 26, 1968. After beginning his DJing career in high school, he quickly graduated to club appearances throughout Osaka, Kyoto, and Kobe, and in 1987 founded the DJ collective Cool Jazz Productions; a year later, Takemura also joined the Boredoms' Eye Yamatsuka in the influential hip-hop outfit Audio Sports.
