This label always does a nice job of remastering and putting together packages of vintage jazz material; this one's no exception: a delightful 22-track set of early Django Reinhardt with the Hot Club of Paris. The transfers are clear and Reinhardt's playing on standards like "Dinah," "Tiger Rag," "Solitude," "Rose Room," and "The Sheik of Araby" is nothing short of astounding, his interplay with Stephane Grappelli being both intuitive and wonderful. Most interesting are Freddy Taylor's vocals on "Shine" and "Georgia on My Mind," which break things up nicely.
