Reseña de álbum

This may be a lost album, but it might be stretching things to call it a "great" lost album. The Knickerbockers were a solid frat rock band from New Jersey who managed a fabulous Beatles pastiche with "Lies" in 1966, and nearly duplicated the feat with their follow-up, "One Track Mind." Unfortunately that was pretty much it. This collection of unreleased tracks and (mostly) stereo remixes does little to change the Knickerbockers' status as one-hit wonders. Not that anything here is patently bad, but aspirations aside, most of this album is truly forgettable. Worse, there is no version of "Lies" on this compilation, although you do get a stereo mix of "One Track Mind," and the previously unreleased "She Said Goodbye" has a wonderful Lennon-like veneer, circa 1965. The final two tracks, "What Does That Make You" and "My Feet Are off the Ground," show a little garage punk spirit that is refreshing, but ultimately this collection is for die-hard Knickerbockers fanatics only.

A couple decent follow-ups — "One Track Mind" and the similarly mock-British Invasion "High on...
