Reseña de álbum

Wonderful Thing, a U.K. compilation originally released in 2000 by the Universal-distributed Spectrum, contains more tracks than the other single-disc Kid Creole & the Coconuts anthologies, but there are a couple factors that will make it perfectly avoidable in the eyes of the attentive. It cuts off at the group's fifth album, Doppelganger, so the likes of "Endicott," which gave the group some exposure on MTV, is not included, and single edits are occasionally favored over the full album and extended versions. Even though catalog departments in different countries often come up with varying ideas of what represents a group's best work, it's still surprising that this set contains only five of the tracks found on Sire's 14-track Kid Creole Redux. The discs provide very different looks; Wonderful Thing, while containing more material, turns out to be less comprehensive and more beneficial to casual fans of the group's earlier years.
