About Silent Harbour
Silent Harbour is one of several aliases of prolific Dutchman Boris Bunnik, best known for his icy electro-techno productions as Conforce. Silent Harbour is his outlet for deeper, dubbier, more ambient techno. Bunnik launched the project in 2012, after the release of the second Conforce album, Escapism. Silent Harbour's eponymous debut album appeared on Danish label Echocord, home of artists like Quantec, Fluxion, and Luke Hess, where it was right at home. Mostly slower and more introspective than the Conforce material, with a dubby, sub-aquatic sound, Silent Harbour occasionally broke out onto the dancefloor with a percussive workout. Hinterland followed in 2015; the first full-length album on Shipwrec sublabel Deep Sound Channel, it had a much more immersive, isolationist style and was arguably one of the first albums in the "deep techno" subgenre. Bunnik returned to Echocord for the 2018 EP Noctiluca, which went even deeper under the ocean with a muffled, tape-decayed sound. ~ John D. Buchanan
