Kristinia DeBarge

About Kristinia DeBarge

While still in her early teens, Kristinia DeBarge, daughter of '80s R&B vocalist James DeBarge, caught the attention of Island record heads thanks to her strong performance on the 2003 season of the television show AMERICAN JUNIORS, a spin-off of the popular AMERICAN IDOL series. DeBarge’s full-length debut, a beguiling mix of vocal pyrotechnics wed to unabashedly bubblegum arrangements, did not appear until the summer of 2009. The album’s lead- off single, “Goodbye,” was a sly reworking of Steam’s ubiquitous 1969 hit “(Na Na Hey Hey) Kiss Him Goodbye.”
