Recorded in 1984 at the Liberty Lunch club in the 13th Floor Elevators’ Austin hometown, this live album captures a brief but potent reunion for singer/guitarist Roky Erickson, bassist Ronnie Leatherman and drummer John Ike Walton, three original members of the pioneering garage-rock and psychedelic band. The lo-fi recording quality makes the renditions of Elevators originals “You’re Gonna Miss Me” and “Splash 1” sound even more thunderous and gnarly. The heavy, bluesy takes on Erickson solo tracks like “Two Headed Dog” hit just as hard.
