Halo Of Flies

About Halo Of Flies

During the late 1980s and early '90s the label Amphetamine Reptile was home to a distinctive brand of rock and punk marked by dissonant guitars, a punishing drum and bass rumble, howling vocals, and pure noise. Halo of Flies were in many ways the flagship AmRep band despite breaking up long before AmRep road into the sunset. The band's searing sound (which also contained hints of classic garage) was quintessential noise rock, but more importantly HoF's frontman Tom Hazelmyer was also the founder and owner of AmRep. While noise rock might have existed without Halo of Flies, it wouldn't have mattered much at all without Hazelmyer and his label.
