Biography

A Leeds, England post rock quintet that won a considerable amount of critical acclaim right out of the box, iLiKETRAiNS — Dave Martin (guitar and vocals), Guy Bannister (guitar, keys, vocals), Alistair Bowis (bass), Ashley Dean (cornet), and Simon Fogel (drums) — released their first single "Stainless Steel," themselves in early 2005. By 2006, the band had won coverage and praise in a handful of mainstream publications, and a record deal with Fierce Panda. For the label the band put out the 2006 EP Progress Reform, which led to even more press (NME, The Sun, and Daily Mail, for example) and a slot at the South By Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas. The band moved shop to seminal label Beggars' Banquet for 2007's full length debut, Elegies to Lessons Learnt, and followed it with the single release, "Spencer Percival."
