About Kele Le Roc

Emerging from the same '90s British R&B scene that produced Beverley Knight, Shola Ama, and Hinda Hicks, soul singer Kele Le Roc briefly achieved solo success before becoming an in-demand guest vocalist for various dance acts. Born Kelly Biggs in East London in 1977, she signed to Polydor Records following an industry buzz surrounding her underground track "Let Me Know." After supporting Total and Horace Brown, her first single, "A Little Bit of Lovin," and follow-up, "My Love," both reached number eight in the U.K. charts. Despite winning two MOBO Awards for Best Newcomer and Best Single, she was dropped by her label, Polydor, after disappointing sales of her debut album, Everybody Somebody. In the early noughties, she appeared on Basement Jaxx's Top Ten hit "Romeo," and provided guest vocals on singles by Shy FX and Curtis Lynch, Jr. In 2010, she released a mixtape entitled Been There Done That and recorded a duet with L.A. hip-hop artist Tha Vill. ~ Jon O'Brien
