Young And In The Way

About Young And In The Way

Sludgy and explosive, Young and in the Way blend elements of crust punk and black metal into a potent and destructive new sound. Based out of Charlotte, North Carolina, the band's bleak and forceful sound was forged by members Kable Lyall (vocals), Rick Contes (guitar), Chris Nolen (bass), and Randy Baucom (drums), who seem hell-bent on pushing the limits of aggression and volume with their sonic savagery. The band debuted their blackened crust sound in 2009 with the EP Newborn, which was followed the next year by two more short releases, Amen and Cloven Hoof, in 2010. In 2011 Young and in the Way signed on with A389 Recordings, where they released their first full-length, I Am Not What I Am, in 2011. Another EP, V. Eternal Depression, would follow later that year. In 2013, the band signed on with Deathwish Inc. (founded by Converge vocalist Jacob Bannon), and in 2014 released their second full-length, When Life Comes to Death, in the middle of that year. ~ Gregory Heaney
