Atrocious Judges

A look at the Judicial system and the infamous judges within that dispensed the law from Saxon time through to the end of the 16th century in England. Fifteen judges are looked at in great detail including George Jeffreys known as the 'Hanging Judge'. Jeffreys name comes from the Bloody Assizes which he presided over after the Monmouth Rebellion in 1685 where he sentenced 400 rebels to be executed.
