Award-winning gospel psalmist/vocalist Earnest Pugh's 17-track Live: Rain on Us offers up a stylish mix of traditional and contemporary spirituals. Pugh, who got his start as a backing vocalist for gospel great O'Landa Draper, has put together a solid body of work since his 2006 debut Worshippers Perspective. The live setting, crisp production, and small army of players (which includes Richard Smallwood and Vanessa Bell Armstrong) makes for compelling listening, especially for CCM fans who prefer the inclusive electricity of the cathedral to the commercial recording studio.
