Album Review

Released in 1977, a few years after they divorced but while they were still occasionally touring and recording together, Greatest Hits contains the ten biggest hits George Jones and Tammy Wynette had as a duet, including "Golden Ring," "The Ceremony," "We're Gonna Hold On," "Near You," and "(We're Not) The Jet Set." Since this was a ten-track vinyl collection from the late '70s, it's very, very brief — about 27 minutes long — but it does contain every truly noteworthy hit they had as a duo and is enjoyably concise. However, keep in mind that all ten songs are on the 1999 collection 16 Biggest Hits, which may be a little bit more, but does indeed offer more songs — and that may be enough of a reason to get that collection instead, even if this is a snappier listen.
