Australia's Alarum play ultratechnical, almost jazz fusion-like thrash/death metal inspired by the likes of Cynic and Atheist. Formed in 1992 by guitarist Mark Evans and drummer Matthew Racovalis, Alarum recorded a number of demos before solidifying their lineup with vocalist/bassist Mark Palfreyman and second guitarist Scott Young in late 1995.
