Album Review

The Limousines' 2011 full-length debut, Get Sharp, delivers more of the indie electronic duo's much buzzed-about-online synth pop. Tracks such as the timely "Very Busy People" — a song about wasting time online and other often fruitless modern pastimes — and the group's Buggles-inspired update "Internet Killed the Video Star" are smartly ironic, self-aware pop songs where the literate, critical tone never gets in the way of your humming along to a catchy melody or dancing to a hot beat. Ultimately, while Get Sharp is certainly a product of the Internet age, the Limousines, with all their meme-like in-joke self-awareness, seem to be saying "I know, right!"
