Great offline companion while driving
I have found this application extremely handy while I had to wait in a cue on Ukraine borders - (waiting time 6,5 hours) and than while driving - offline content of the book I was able listening to for whole my journey. Recommend to all drivers and travelers and beyond .
Great app
User friendly, possible to download and listen offline, huge selection of books. I am currently listening to “The Book I Wish My Parents Had Read” and it is great to be able to make notes.
Almost everything went wrong
The app works for the basic usage: it plays audio. But:
- sometimes when you click skip forward/backward, you end up minutes away i stead of 15s
- speed can only be adjusted in 25% steps. I want 105% or 95%, or 130%, is that too much to ask?
- with bad internet connection the app takes ages to start, even though it doesn’t need internet to work
Content (I tried Ready Player one):
- Almost inaudibly silent, even on max volume. Other players are much louder.
- audiobook is split into 178 random nameless chapters even though the actual book has Prlologue, Level 1, 2, and 3, further split into 40 chapters. Why make up chapters that’s completely disconnected from the contents?
- even though there are these chapters, the “progressbar” covers the whole book, so is completely useless for finer navigation.
Avoid if you can.
