About Christian Pollack

Austrian conductor Christian Pollack attended the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna, where he studied violin, piano, and composition, and took up conducting as a student of Hans Swarovsky. Pollack later worked with Sergiu Celibidache and Christoph von Dohnanyi. Since 1992, Pollack has been the chief conductor of the East Slovakian Philharmonic, and since 2005, he has been the musical director of the Vienna Residence Orchestra. He has also been the principal guest conductor of the Zilina Chamber Orchestra since 2002. He has recorded extensively for Marco Polo and Naxos, concentrating on Viennese light music.
