About Courtney Love

Though Courtney Love’s status as the widow of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain often overshadows her artistic output, as leader of the band Hole she was responsible for several incendiary releases at the height of the 1990s alt-rock boom. Beginning in the 1980s, Love maintained an on-again off-again acting career, reaching a pinnacle with acclaimed turns in THE PEOPLE VS. LARRY FLYNT (1996) and MAN ON THE MOON (1999). Following the collapse of Hole, Love released her solo debut AMERICA’S SWEETHEART in 2004. Though the album received a less than stellar response, Love would remain near the spotlight for years to come, thanks in large part to her reliably outrageous behavior and, inevitably, her relationship to the Nirvana legacy.
