About el Manjar de los Dioses

El Manjar de los Dioses was formed in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, in 1994 by singer José Luis Abreu, guitarists Rey and Reyis Nieves, keyboardist Eggie Santiago, and drummer David Pérez. As the band's name has been taken from the Greek mythology, their lyrics seem to be related, being mostly philosophical reflections. El Manjar de los Dioses' first record was released in 1997, followed by 1999's Alucinando. Their song "Déjame Vivir" became their first hit. Their tropical-rock style was debuted in the U.S. at Los Angeles' Rocanrol Festival in June 2000. In August that same year, El Manjar de los Dioses performed in New York as part of the Watcha Tour. ~ Drago Bonacich
